Dunkerque-Port, a logistics hub on a European scale
Dunkirk is the ideal platform for consolidating and distributing goods across Europe. Ideally located close to the metropolitan area of Lille, at the heart of the London-Paris-Brussels triangle and a market of more than 80 million consumers, Dunkirk is taking advantage of its geographical location and excellent land access to develop logistics and distribution activities in the port.
An exceptional location close to transport services
The logistics sites in the western port of Dunkirk are all located in the immediate vicinity of the container terminal (Terminal des Flandres) and the roro terminals for Great Britain (Dover) and Ireland (Rosslare).
They also benefit from a direct connection to the road, waterway and rail services of the Port of Dunkirk, France’s leading multimodal port. A piggyback terminal (transhipment of trailers and swap bodies onto wagons) will be operational at the very heart of the West Port by the end of 2025.
Thanks to its geographical position, the Port of Dunkirk is also a partner of choice for the organisation of logistics flows with the British Isles.
Key advantages for logistics developments
The West Port of Dunkirk is already home to a large number of logistics players, for both dry and temperature-controlled (positive and negative) products.
On all the logistics sites in the West Port, operations in private warehouses are carried out by the operator’s staff. Trucking operations with port terminals are carried out by transport companies.
Dunkerque-Port, a pioneer in the development of plug & play economic sites, has created a new logistics zone called Dunkerque Logistique Internationale (DLI). This zone offers development capacity for new logistics buildings of around 350,000 m².

New horizons in logistics
DLI, a "Choose France" site, covers 150 hectares and is dedicated to the development of logistics activities for dry and temperature-controlled goods. While 45,000 m² of warehouses are already operational, nearly 350,000 m² of new warehouses
are planned or under construction.
