Dunkerque-Port, driving industrial projects
Already renowned for its strong industrial culture, the port territory of Dunkirk is now establishing itself as a key player in green reindustrialisation. Dunkirk’s new industrial model, at the heart of the energy transition and carbon neutrality objectives, combines economic, environmental and social performance.
Dunkirk’s strategic location and its position as a major maritime and multimodal hub on a European scale strengthen the excellence of its industrial cluster, structured according to the principles of the circular economy.
Dunkerque-Port offers solutions to coordinate and facilitate the establishment of industrial projects.
A dynamic industrial area
Dunkirk is home to a number of major industrial sectors, including metallurgy, building and construction, agri-food, chemicals and pharmaceuticals, not to mention the electric mobility sector, which is currently being deployed.

Setting up in the industrial port zone
The Dunkirk area plays a key role in reindustrialisation by offering innovative solutions for setting up and developing new industrial activities.
Dunkerque is a leading player in green reindustrialisation, thanks to its dynamic ecosystem that promotes the circular economy, the production and mass availability of low-carbon and transitional energies, while also building on more sustainable sectors of the future such as electric mobility and agri-food.
Dunkerque-Port is implementing an ambitious strategy to develop zones ready to welcome new industries and logistics activities within controlled deadlines, thanks to the anticipation of procedures linked to urban planning, preventive archaeology and the environment. Among these sites, the Zone Grande Industrie (ZGI) and Dunkerque Logistique Internationale (DLI), which have been awarded the ‘Choose France’ label, are examples of these plug & play areas.
Dunkirk-Port, Europe's leading energy hub
Already a reference energy hub on a European scale, Dunkirk is making every effort to diversify its energy mix and make low-carbon, easily accessible energy available to industry.
Following the France 2030 call for Low Carbon Industrial Zones (ZIBaC) projects, the government selected the Dunkirk industrial basin as one of the first two ZIBaCs, accelerating the decarbonisation of French industry.
