CLÉMENT BEAUNE, MINISTER DELEGATE IN CHARGE OF TRANSPORT, INAUGURATES THE DUNKERQUE INTERNATIONAL LOGISTICS ZONE (DLI) AND CONFIRMS THE DEVELOPMENT AND OUTLOOKS FOR THE PORT OF DUNKERQUE
In terms of port logistics, activity is intense in the Port of Dunkerque. While the warehouses located in the port precinct totalled an area of approximately 150,000 sq. m in 2021, nearly 400,000 sq. m of new warehouses are currently planned or under construction in the Dunkerque Logistique Internationale (DLI) zone, a turnkey site with “Choose France” accreditation.
One of these logistics programmes involves that of the Société de Développement Axe Nord (SDAN), which has two large-scale projects, one of which covers an area of 9 hectares in the vast DLI zone. The construction of a warehouse with 43,770 sq. m of floor space as a speculative development is under way with 6 storage cells and 1,380 sq. m of office space. The project was inaugurated on Monday, 7 November 2022.
Other leading international logistics players have already committed to projects complementing the planned occupation of this new logistics zone, including Krown Logistics, Warehouse De Pauw (WDP), Ziegler and Heylen Warehouse, marking the attractiveness of the industrial port precinct of Dunkerque and its development potential.
Over and above the current and future investments for the maritime and multimodal logistics development of the Port of Dunkerque, in particular around its container terminal, the energy and industrial transition of Dunkerque and the surrounding area in the Hauts-de-France region enhances the attractiveness of the Port of Dunkerque with its immediate proximity to the gateways for international trade.
